Summary
Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems and equipment for the delivery of water, wastewater, and recycled water services.
Primary Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and tune those measurement, control and process instruments that are applied to the water/wastewater industry;
- Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, mechanical and pneumatic failures; decide and execute course of actions;
- Perform preventive, predictive and conditional maintenance on various assets including pumps, motors, VFD’s, PLC’s, transducers, meters, probes, breakers, controllers, etc;
- Safely utilize technical tools such as Multi-meters, Thermal Imagery, and Signal Simulators;
- Coordinate 3rd party contractors as required to accomplish maintenance activities;
- Utilize CMMS software to track, trend, and complete work orders;
- Respond to on/off-duty emergencies and participate in on-call rotation;
- Develop and document maintenance schedules;
- Analyze work history, asset condition and costs;
- Plan maintenance or replacement activities;
- Manage physical inventory and supplier stock;
- Provide coaching, mentoring and training to other personnel as needed;
- Work in other areas as needed.
Necessary Skills
- Strength in both following and leading; Team and individual work;
- Strength in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and concepts;
- Ability to read and interpret schematics: mechanical, electrical and hydraulic;
- Solid understanding of PLC functionality and layout;
- Decisiveness for course of action;
- Experience with highly instrumented and automated systems;
- PLC, P&ID and ladder logic experience is highly desirable;
- Outstanding logistical, organizational, coordination and planning skills;
- Ability to maintain in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment;
- Has ability to understand control systems and link complex events across large-scale applications;
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and work at ambient temperatures year round.
Qualifications
- Clear evidence and demonstration of experience and knowledge of listed skills
- Must possess a valid AZ drivers license and clean driving record
The ideal candidate is flexible, with a desire to cross train into other areas and seek and accept additional responsibilities.
