Summary

Receives, investigates and responds to all customer inquiries regarding residential service. Demonstrate excellent, in-depth knowledge of the companies new account set-up as well as maintenance policies and procedures.

Primary Duties

  • Receives phone calls from customers for new service, transfers and disconnects of water service and quotes rates as well as service fees.
  • Ability to handle customer calls/resolve issues independently. (Limit calls to supervisor)
  • Enter customer information to establish service for Residential accounts.
  • Updates customer records daily such as address and name changes.
  • Take Phone payments, files documents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Initiate work order for replacements, repairs, water quality complaints and re-reads.
  • Work closely with customers to resolve disputed account issues.
  • Completes forms for requests such as account adjustments, re-reads, refunds, etc.
  • Researches complex customer problems in a calm manner and provides feedback to supervisor.
  • Documents problem and suggested solution. Notes each individual account on every customer contact.
  • Follow up daily with customers on completed work orders/close service orders on accounts daily.
  • Maintain records and reports.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • At least three years of call center experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Good grammar, voice and diction (Excellent communication skills)
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
  • Interpersonal skills-the individual maintains confidentiality, able to interact within a team environment, effectively communicates with customers in a professional manner. (Will not discuss personal issues with customer)
  • Remains open to other’s ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
  • Analytical and problem solving-the individual has the ability to do simple calculations, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
  • Quality control—the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work proficiency to ensure quality.
